Academic Promotions Process 2022

The Academic Promotions Process for 2022 will open on the 31 January 2022.

All staff who wish to be considered for promotion through the Academic Promotion process should ensure their application form (and associated documentation) should be submitted to the inbox by the 14th March 2022. 

Guidance notes, key documents and forms to assist in the preparation of your application are below. Please read this information carefully as applications that do not follow the guidelines may not be considered. 

The process and criteria for promotion has only had a couple of minor changes made to it, and as such the advice and guidance sessions recorded last year have been re-posted to help those intending to apply for Promotion this year.  FAQ’s have also been produced and these can all be found on the advice and guidance page.

An outline timeline of the process is:

Monday 31 January 2022 – Academic Promotions Applications Open

Monday 14 March 2022 – Academic Promotions Applications Close

Monday 28 March – Friday 22 April 2022 – First Panel Meeting of the School Promotions Committee (SPC)

Monday 25 April - Friday 29 April 2022 – Outcome Letters sent following First Panel Meeting

Monday 11 July – Friday 29 July 2022 – Second Panel Meeting of the School Promotions Committee (SPC)

Monday 1 August - Friday 5 August 2022 – Outcome Letters sent following Second Panel Meeting

Early September 2022 – The Academic Promotions, Advancements and Titles Committee (APATC) meeting to confirm promotions to Reader and Professor

Mid-Late September 2022 - Outcome Letters sent following APATC Meeting for Reader and Professor

The effective date for all promotions will be 1 October 2022.
